Being

I wrote, directed, and produced a multimedia existential comedy about life, death, and ghosts. Currently in post-production, so these are some BTS pictures of my cast, 30+ person crew, and sets which included a professional sound stage.

Mediums in the film include video, photo, illustration, and stop motion animation. In our midst pandemic, digital world, life and existence have been redefined countless times and are constantly changing. A reminder of what makes humanity so special—feelings, experiences, and connections—and an exploration of life could not come at a better time. The themes and use of different mediums in this short, to me at least, are a reminder of not only the specialness of existence but also the boundary-less nature of art and cinema.

Logline: A ghost attempts to remember what it was like to be human, each aspect of life she tries to remember being portrayed through a different medium. Surreal and nostalgic, this short reflects on both the futile and meaningful aspects of being human, and ultimately, existence itself.

Lost in Shanghai (Art Direction)

Art direction for Lost in Shanghai (dir. Kassidy Liu, 2022). Closely intertwined with production design, I used my cultural contexts and knowledge to personalize, characterize, and bring settings and people to life with food and design. I set dressed to create authentic looking restaurants and bars, as well as sourced food that would aid the film's storytelling and authenticity.
